Old Growth Redwood Burl

Redwood burl is legendary among collectors for its depth of color and intense, labyrinthine grain patterns. This particular piece captures the absolute best of the medium: a deep, amber-red heartwood rich with wild "eyes," encircled by a beautifully contoured live edge. 

To honor the tree’s history, I preserved the natural outer boundary, creating a striking contrast between the smooth, polished interior and the textured, sculptural rim. 

The piece has been meticulously sealed with natural, food-safe oils and waxes to highlight the shimmering chatoyancy of the grain while protecting it for generations to come. 

A monumental addition to any private collection.
