This large bowl shows off the figure that occurs in the area of a tree where two trunks diverge. The stresses that develop as the trunks grow apart creates a wild "flame" or "feather" pattern that is unlike any other part of the grain structure and gives the bowl a dynamic presence. The bowl is 14" across and 6" tall, with retained bark and a flowing natural edge. The piece is finished with food-safe natural oils and waxes. It is signed by the artist on the bottom, along with the wood species.
