This is a large bowl made from a beautiful piece of Bradford Pear. A ring of hand texturing provides embellishment and accents the visual impact of the bowl's presence. At 16 inches in diameter and 7.25 inches across, it makes a statement of belonging to those who share generously with others. When this bowl is passed to subsequent generations many stories of family, entertainment and celebrations will accompany it. The band of texturing gives a tactile contrast to the smooth, velvety finish of the pear on the interior and exterior of the bowl. The grain structure of the wood is subtle on this piece and in places it has an almost marble-like appearance. There are touches of reddish brown in the innermost core area. The bowl is finished with food safe oils and wax. It is signed by the artist on the bottom, along with the wood species.
