This is a large shallow bowl, with a slightly undercut rim to make it comfortable to hold. It measures about 14.5" diameter by 3.4" tall with a defined foot and it is finished with food safe oils and wax. Like many fruit trees, pear wood has warm tones and rich grain. This Bradford Pear tree adorned a friend's front yard until it was destroyed in the 2021 tornado in Horsham, PA. This bowl would be magnificent as a salad bowl, serving the family or guests, or filled with fruit to make an inviting centerpiece. I consider this a "generational bowl" as it has qualities that will endure for many, many years. It is signed by the artist on the bottom, along with the wood species.
